Why a separate Uploader? Why not pack it into the addon?
Blizzard's addon API doesn't allow outbound HTTP — only raid-channel chat and gateway messages. We need to ship data to our own server, so a companion app reads SavedVariables and uploads on the user's behalf. It also brings the addon the list of known premades: without the Uploader that list stays empty in the game.
What can I see on the dashboard?
Depends on your tier:
- Member (signed in with Discord) — your own upload profile and the first ten rows of the leaderboard.
- Contributor (an upload within the last 7 days) — + the full leaderboard, deserter counts (without names), and in game the warnings about known premade leaders plus an odds-to-win line. Stop uploading and it lapses back to Member.
- Full access (5 matches contributed in the last 7 days) — + per-player drill-down with match history and gear, every battle with filters and a breakdown of each, class/spec meta, enemy leaders, alts and premade regulars, and the deserters' names. The addon then knows the leaders' people too, not just the leaders — and spots a premade even when its leader isn't in the match.
Your first week is Full access straight away. For seven days after you first sign in everything is open without a single upload, provided your Discord account was at least a month old at that point. The banner at the top of every page shows how many days are left and how many matches you have already contributed.
There is no paid tier any more: since 12 September 2026 full access is earned by contributing, not bought. Five matches a week is one evening. Patreon is still there, but it supports the project rather than buying access.
How do I find every battle of a player or a premade?
With full access, open Battles in the site header. It holds the whole history, from the very first battle, with filters: dates, map, winner, player (together with their alts), premade and "only battles I uploaded". The filter lives in the address, so a link can be shared, and on a match page the "Newer" / "Older" buttons walk the same list.
The quickest way to a player is the search box in the header: the start of the name is enough, and case and accents do not matter. Their profile links to "All battles of this player", and a leader's to "All battles of this premade" as well. A premade battle is one where the leader (on any of their alts) played together with their people, or where most of their roster gathered without the leader. That is why the count can differ from the Enemy premades tab, which counts the leader's own battles.
Where do 5,000+ players in the DB come from if I play alone?
Each Epic BG is 40v40 = 80 players. After ~50 matches you've already met ~4,000 unique GUIDs. Data accumulates as rosters overlap with other active players.
Addon
Addon doesn't show up in the WoW AddOns menu
Check the path — the directory must live directly under Interface\AddOns\:
Interface\AddOns\PremadeIQ\PremadeIQ.toc
If you extracted with a nested folder (PremadeIQ-X.Y.Z\PremadeIQ\)
— move PremadeIQ up one level.
On a Mac the AddOns folder is usually
/Applications/World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/
Nothing prints in chat after a BG
Check:
- Did the match reach its end (
PVP_MATCH_COMPLETEevent)? If you left, no scoreboard. - Is it an Epic BG? Regular BGs (AB, WSG, EOTS) are stored apart and don't count anywhere yet.
- Type
/piq statusin chat — it shows DB size. If it says "No data yet", no match has been recorded so far.
How do I update the addon?
If you installed it through CurseForge or Wago, their app updates it for
you. The Uploader window also tells you when a new version is out ("Addon
update available"). By hand: download the new ZIP and extract it into
Interface\AddOns\ overwriting files.
SavedVariables is not touched — your collected data stays.
Premades and odds gone after an update? With Uploader 0.9.15 and addon
0.9.60 the data lives in a separate PremadeIQ_Data folder next to
the addon, and updates leave it alone. With an older Uploader it comes back
the next time the Uploader runs. You can check it in the addon settings,
under “Local database”.
How do I fully uninstall the addon and Uploader and delete my data?
- First, request deletion from the server, while the Uploader is
still installed — the request needs your sign-in. Open the Uploader window
(that refreshes your sign-in), then in a command prompt:
"%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PremadeIQ\Uploader\PremadeIQUploader.exe" delete-me --yes
On a Mac, in Terminal:"/Applications/PremadeIQ Uploader.app/Contents/MacOS/PremadeIQ Uploader" delete-me --yes
This is not an instant wipe: an administrator reviews the request by hand, and running the command again shows its status. Rows about you in other players' match scoreboards are public data and are not removed on request — see the privacy policy for details. - Delete
Interface\AddOns\PremadeIQ\andInterface\AddOns\PremadeIQ_Data\ - Delete
WTF\Account\<id>\SavedVariables\PremadeIQ.lua - Remove the Uploader. Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → PremadeIQ Uploader → Uninstall (for the portable version, turn off "Run when Windows starts" and delete its folder). Mac: turn off "Open at login" in the app window and drag the app from Applications to the Trash.
- Uninstalling leaves your local files (sign-in, settings, log) behind —
delete
%APPDATA%\PremadeIQ, or on a Mac~/Library/Application Support/PremadeIQ.
Uploader
Uploader doesn't open, or Windows says "blocked by Smart App Control"
Nothing happens when you start it (no window, no error). Usually that is the "from the internet" mark Windows puts on files from a downloaded ZIP. Since 0.9.18 the Uploader clears it by itself. For an older version:
- Unpack the whole archive into a normal folder (e.g.
C:\PremadeIQ) — not OneDrive, and not just the exe. - Open that folder, type
powershellin the address bar and run:Get-ChildItem -Recurse | Unblock-File - Start
PremadeIQUploader.exeagain.
To see the exact reason, run PremadeIQUploader.exe gui --verbose in the
same folder and send us the last lines.
"Blocked by Smart App Control", with no "Run anyway" button. This is a Windows 11 protection that only lets through programs Microsoft already knows well. A new Uploader version may trip it in its first days, and it cannot be allowed per app. Message us on Discord — we'll give you the previous version that Windows already knows.
Browser or Defender says "virus" / Wacatac / SmartScreen blocks launch
This is a known false positive from Microsoft Defender on unsigned
programs. Nothing malicious lives inside the Uploader. Microsoft's automatic check is
suspicious of every new version until it builds a reputation, and sometimes flags it
as a threat — usually under a name like Trojan:…/Wacatac…!ml.
If your browser won't download the archive ("Virus detected"):
- We report such cases to Microsoft as false positives; they are usually cleared within one to three days. Wait and download again — we'll post in the news when it's cleared.
- If the Uploader is already installed, it updates itself and isn't affected by the block.
If Defender has quarantined the installed program:
- Open Windows Security (Win + S → type "Windows Security")
- Left sidebar → Virus & threat protection → Protection history
- Find the
PremadeIQUploaderentry → Actions → Restore - Optional: add the Uploader folder to exclusions (Virus & threat protection settings → Manage settings → Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions → Folder)
If SmartScreen blocks the launch:
- On the warning popup: click More info → Run anyway.
- For the ZIP version you can also, BEFORE extracting: right-click the ZIP → Properties → tick Unblock → Apply (clears the "mark of the web" from every file inside in one go).
What we're doing about it:
- The Uploader ships as a folder (Nuitka
--standalone, since v0.1.1) rather than a single self-extracting file — that was the main heuristic trigger. - We report false positives to Microsoft — most recently on 2026-10-14, for the Uploader 0.9.15 archive.
- Planned: a code-signing certificate (~$90/yr) that removes the SmartScreen warnings.
The Uploader on a Mac
There is a build for Apple silicon Macs (M1 and newer), macOS 11 or later. To download it and open it the first time, follow the steps on the install page: the app isn't signed with Apple, so the first launch has to be allowed by hand, once.
How it differs from Windows:
- Closing the window quits the app — there is no menu bar icon. To keep matches uploading on their own, leave the window open (minimizing is fine) or turn on "Open at login".
- "Open at login" only works when the app lives in Applications.
- It doesn't update itself: when a new version is out, the window shows a "Download" button.
Uploader can't find SavedVariables
Check the obvious first:
- Play at least one Epic BG — the
PremadeIQ.luafile doesn't exist until the first match. - After the match, type
/reloador log out: WoW only writes SavedVariables to disk then.
If you have played and still nothing is found, the Uploader window shows
where it looked for the game and a Choose game folder… button — pick
the folder that contains _retail_. The Uploader searches the
registry, the Battle.net settings, the standard locations and your other
drives (on a Mac: /Applications, ~/Applications and
attached disks), but an unusual install can still slip past it.
From a command prompt, PremadeIQUploader.exe status prints
the same list.
"Token expired" or "401 Unauthorized"
In the Uploader window your sign-in renews itself: the token lives 7 days and is refreshed without you, as long as you open the app at least once every 90 days. If the window shows the Sign in with Discord button again, just click it.
If you only use the command line: a token pasted with
login --token <token> lasts 7 days and does not renew —
run login again after that.
Discord sign-in fails
Joining a Discord server is no longer required — any Discord account works. If sign-in still fails: make sure you approve the permissions Discord asks for, and try again; the login link is only valid for 10 minutes, so an old browser tab has to be reloaded. If it keeps failing, ask in EPIC Discord.
Sync hangs on a large backlog
On the first sync with thousands of accumulated players, the request can take 20-30 seconds. This is normal. Subsequent syncs are fast because only the delta is sent.
Dashboard
Dashboard says "anonymous" even after I logged in on the Uploader
Signing in to the Uploader and to the website are separate. Sign in in the browser as well: the "Sign in with Discord" button in the top-right.
The leaderboard only shows the first few rows
You're on the Member tier: until your first upload you see
ten rows. Upload one batch via the Uploader — the tier bumps up
automatically on your next request.
Player search returns 403 "… below required full"
Player search is Full access. It is open straight away for your first week after signing in, and after that once we have received 5 of your matches in the last 7 days. Play epics with the addon on and the Uploader running; the tier refreshes on your next server call.
Still stuck?
Message the Discord channel #⚔-king-of-ebg or DM @rezal. Attach:
- A screenshot of the Uploader window
- The last 30 lines of the log: on Windows
%APPDATA%\PremadeIQ\uploader.log, on a Mac~/Library/Application Support/PremadeIQ/uploader.log
Who sees my battle comments, and how do I delete them?
Comments on the battle page are visible to everyone with full access. They are signed with your character in that battle if the server itself has verified it is yours and that you uploaded the battle; otherwise “PremadeIQ player”. Your Discord name is never shown. You can comment after 5 battles of your own in a week; links are not allowed. A data-deletion request removes all your comments too — see the privacy policy.
