Install PremadeIQ ·
C:\PremadeIQ,
and start PremadeIQUploader.exe from there, not from inside the ZIP.
Not into Program Files and not into OneDrive: in Program Files the app cannot
update itself, and OneDrive keeps the files busy syncing, so it may not start.
The app doesn't open?
- No window and no error: open the Uploader folder, type
powershellin the Explorer address bar, runGet-ChildItem -Recurse | Unblock-Fileand startPremadeIQUploader.exeagain. That clears the "from the internet" mark Windows puts on files from a downloaded ZIP. - Windows says "blocked by Smart App Control" with no "Run anyway" button: it cannot be allowed per app. Message us on Discord #⚔-king-of-ebg — we'll give you the previous version Windows already knows.
- Still nothing: in the same folder run
.\PremadeIQUploader.exe gui --verboseand send us the last lines. More in the FAQ →
Already installed the addon from CurseForge or Wago? Skip to step 3 — the Uploader is the part that shares your matches and brings the community data back.
Playing on a Mac? The Uploader has a macOS version — see the Mac section.
On Linux (Lutris, Steam/Proton, Steam Deck)? There is a Linux version too — see the Linux section.
Install the addon
Download the ZIP and extract it into the WoW AddOns folder:
Installation path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns\
After extraction the AddOns\ folder should contain one new
directory: PremadeIQ\.
If WoW is running — restart the client or type /reload in chat.
Play at least one Epic BG
The addon writes to SavedVariables only after a match ends. Queue for an Epic BG (Ashran / Alterac Valley / Isle of Conquest / Wintergrasp / Deephaul Ravine) and play to the finish.
After the match you'll see in chat:
|cff33ff99PremadeIQ|r Match recorded: 40
40 = players captured (usually the full scoreboard).
Then type /reload or log out. WoW keeps
SavedVariables in memory and only writes them to disk on /reload
or logout — until it does, the Uploader has nothing to read and will report
no new matches.
Download and launch the Uploader
A small windowed app that uploads matches to the server in the background. No terminal commands needed. This is also what brings the community data back: the addon ships with an empty premade list, and the Uploader is what fills it in.
Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml — a known ML-heuristic false
positive on unsigned Python apps, not a real threat. A whitelisting
request to Microsoft is already filed.
If the file is in quarantine: Windows Security → Protection history → PremadeIQUploader → Restore.

- Unpack the whole ZIP into a normal folder, e.g.
C:\PremadeIQ(not Program Files, not OneDrive — why). - Start
PremadeIQUploader.exefrom the unpacked folder. - In the window, click the big "Sign in with Discord" button. Your browser opens the authorization — once you approve, the token flies back into the window and the app switches to a dashboard with your nick and counters.
- You can close the window — the app minimizes to the system tray (the
PIQicon next to the clock) and keeps running in the background. After every Epic BG new matches go to the server automatically.
Settings has a "Run when Windows starts" toggle —
turn it on if you want Uploader to launch on every Windows logon.
One finished Epic BG a week keeps your access open: premade notices in game,
the odds-to-win line, the full leaderboard and deserters. Free — a Discord
account is enough, joining the EPIC
server is optional. Five matches a week opens the full dashboard — player
search, match breakdowns, enemy leaders. No payment involved.
System requirements: Windows 10/11, Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime
(preinstalled on recent Windows; one-click install otherwise).
Uploader on a Mac
The macOS version does the same job: it hands over your matches and
fills the addon's premade list. Built for Apple silicon (M1 and newer),
macOS 11 or later. On a Mac the addon goes into
/Applications/World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/.
Which Mac is it? Apple menu → About This Mac: “Chip Apple M…” is Apple silicon, “Processor … Intel” is an Intel Mac. On an Intel Mac, ask in the Discord channel.
- Open the downloaded ZIP (Safari usually unpacks it on its own) and drag PremadeIQ Uploader into Applications.
- Open it from Applications. macOS refuses and shows a warning — close it with Done (or OK).
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the line about PremadeIQ Uploader, click Open Anyway and confirm with your password. The button appears only after a blocked attempt and stays for about an hour. On macOS 14 and older, right-click the app → Open → Open does the same.
- In the window, click Sign in with Discord — the same as on Windows.
- Keep the window open or minimise it to the Dock: on a Mac the app has no tray icon, and closing the window quits it. In the app's Settings, Open at login starts it minimised every time you sign in.
Terminal alternative to step 3: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/PremadeIQ Uploader.app".
The app looks for the game in Applications, in the Applications folder
inside your home folder and on external disks. If it still cannot find it,
the Choose game folder… button in the window points it to the folder
that contains _retail_. The app tells you when a new version is
out: download it here and replace the app in Applications — macOS will ask
once more.
Uploader on Linux
WoW on Linux runs through Wine — Lutris, Steam (Proton), Bottles, Heroic. The Linux Uploader finds the game inside them by itself, hands over your matches and fills the addon's premade list. Two versions: with a window — the same window as on Windows — and console, with no window and a few commands in a terminal (a smaller download, for a Steam Deck or a minimal system). Either can upload in the background whenever you are logged in. Needs a 64-bit PC (x86_64) with glibc 2.35 or newer: Steam Deck, Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 36+, Debian 12+, Arch, Mint 21+.
The download needs you signed in on this site, so it starts in the browser, not with wget.
- Unpack the archive and install the app — it copies itself to
~/.local/share/premadeiq-uploaderand adds a menu entry:
tar xzf PremadeIQUploader-*-linux-x86_64*.tar.gz
./PremadeIQUploader/premadeiq-uploader install - With the window: open PremadeIQ Uploader from the applications menu and click Sign in with Discord. The Start at login switch in its settings opens it minimised every time you log in; closing the window stops it.
- Console, or background uploads with either version:
~/.local/bin/premadeiq-uploader login— sign in (opens the browser; no browser at hand — open the printed link on your phone and type the code)
~/.local/bin/premadeiq-uploader detect— check that the game is found
~/.local/bin/premadeiq-uploader install-service— upload in the background from now on — on a Steam Deck in Game Mode too
Game not found? Point the app at it:
~/.local/bin/premadeiq-uploader set-wow-root "/path/to/World of Warcraft" — the folder with
_retail_ inside, or the whole Wine prefix. The addon goes into
_retail_/Interface/AddOns/ inside that folder, as on Windows.
What it is doing: ~/.local/bin/premadeiq-uploader status; the log:
journalctl --user -u premadeiq-uploader -f.
The app says when a new version is out (in the window, in status and in
the log): download it here, unpack it and run the install command
again — the background service restarts on the new version by itself. While
the window is open it does the uploading and the background service waits.
